Transform from Prey to Predator
Listen to Introduction
This book is about developing a PREDATOR MINDSET on the mat. What does that mean? Let me explain.
In nature, there are two types of animals: predators and prey. You can tell which is which by looking at their eyes. Predators have eyes on the front of their head — they need forward-facing vision to hunt. Prey animals have eyes on the sides of their head — they need peripheral vision to watch for threats.
"Eyes on the front like to hunt,
eyes on the side like to hide"
This principle applies to wrestling too. Wrestlers with a predator mindset focus on what they can control — their effort, their attitude, their aggressiveness. They are hunters on the mat, always attacking, always looking for opportunities.
Wrestlers with a prey mindset are constantly worried about things they cannot control — what fans think, what their opponent might do, external circumstances. They are defensive, reactive, and fearful.
In this book, you will learn to identify the three categories of prey mentality that hold wrestlers back:
Being overly concerned with what spectators think
Focusing on your opponent instead of yourself
Being distracted by circumstances beyond your control
You will also learn to develop the three pillars of predator mentality:
Maximum intensity in every practice and match
Positive mindset regardless of circumstances
Relentless attack and killer instinct
These are the things you can control. These are what make champions. This book will show you how to think like a predator, act like a predator, and dominate like a predator.
The choice is yours: Will you be the hunter or the hunted?
Let's get to work.
